If anyone actually still cares, for you ubuntu users, I believe there is a package for this in the repositories, named "gnome-icon-theme-gperfection2" for the icon theme, with the proper index file, along with "gtk-clearlooks-gperfection2-theme" which is the gperfection2 theme with the clearlooks engine.

I truely think that this gtk and icon theme is one of the best themes ever made in the history of the world.

Where can I get that wallpaper shown in the screenshot? I like it a lot. Are you going to continue gperfection and make a version 3? I was also wondering how I could apply your gaim2 icon theme.

There is no such wallpaper. The logo was made for the screenshot. Read here about gperfection: [link]

As for GAIM, or any other problem, I make it a rule to not do tech support. Ask around or talk to the GAIM guys. I usually don't even tell people I don't do tech support, I just ignore such emails and posts...but its so nice and sunny here!

Would you mind if I used the logo for myself to make a wallpaper, I really like that logo.

As long as it for personal use and you and you alone will be using it, go ahead. If you release it or give it out, I will come and find you and break your thumbs... ;)

Errr, just a technical note on the title of this deviation: how could you incorporate the "2" upper-script in the dA Title caption if the tile is only allowed a few non-alphanumeric characters?

It doesnt let you do it at first submission, but you can add it by modifying the title. Just stumbled on it.

Yep no problem. Just remember that when you modify it again, you have to re-add the character or you will get spit out the code required, but not the actual character.

Yeah... this is a really nice setup Lokheed :winner:
Can't get it to work at all, but when I feel like having gperfection I'll just come visit this page.

Cheers for the work!

When are you going to fix that gentoo button? I personally edit it myself if needed but for sake of others it should be something more general... :)

hehe. :) Relax man. I didn't intented myself with that ask... :) I use gentoo also but I don't like having logos everywhere on my system. I acctually quite hate it. ^^; So I change that icon since I can do my own gtk+ styles and colour schemes by myself, thank you. :)

Anyway I look it your work is nice and clean, but it wastes some useful screenspace like all the gnome themes since the clearlook style came up. I freaking hate that theme engine. If I could I'd write a better...

Hi. Love the theme. but today i got new updates to my ubuntu dapper system. The following:

acpi-support gksu gtk2-engines-clearlooks gtk2-engines-crux gtk2-engines-industrial gtk2-engines-lighthouseblue gtk2-engines-mist gtk2-engines-redmond95 gtk2-engines-smooth gtk2-engines-thinice hpijs hplip-ppds kdebase-data libavahi-client3 libavahi-common-data libavahi-common3 libavahi-glib1 libavahi-qt3-1 libgnutls11 libgnutls12 libkonq4 libpq4

The greencolor changed to blue for some reason. Any idea why?

And when i run programs I get:

/usr/share/themes/gperfection2/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:62: error: unexpected identifier `animation', expected character `}'

Have I done something wrong. Or have gnome changed something

How can I apply this theme like on the screenshot? I have Gentoo 2005.1 stable with Gnome 2.12 and gtk-engines-2.6.7 ( I can't find newest version - what's going on) ?

I think you added some extra tango items in this one, because I noticed the size change, this one [link] has 5 mb this new one has 5.6 mb. All I did was copy over the index.theme. :)

I found that if you modify the index.theme in anyway, the theme works. If you add a space somewhere and remove it, and save the changes (note that there wouldnt be in this case), the icon theme works for those that have problems. This is peculiar and I have not joined a mailing list to find out why. Maybe I should do that...

Great icon set!!!! Its the only one I use.

Btw, for those that are having trouble with the icon index.theme download the icon set from here

this is the only way I found to fix this.

Thanks. Both of the sets are identical. In retrospect, I dont know why I even uploaded the icon set with the theme; I should have just linked to it which I will do on the next update.

Great theme! However, your icon theme is not available in the gnome-theme-manager. Its index file might be the problem.

Keep up the terrific work!

Thanks. The icons work fine with the theme-manager on my system. You are the first to report such a problem. Check your installation as there is nothing in the index that can omit icons from various programs...

P.S.: I'm so annoying because your icon theme it's the only one I'd use :)

The gperfection2-icon-set.zip file has an incorrect index.theme file (for an icon theme... I think, at least) and a strange gtk-2.0 directory... :whisper:

There is nothing technically wrong with the index.theme file. It adheres to freedestkop specs as outlines here: [link]
